Each property has an alarm system so that the Nursing staff can be contacted in an emergency. The alarm system is activated by a small button-operated transmitter. Intruder sensors can be fitted to the alarm system as an optional extra.

All properties are fitted with linked smoke detectors. Bungalow's have one fitted in the hall and one the landing.
